Inflammatory message I just received

Subject: DJ AM GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!!

I HOPE HE ROTS IN HELL..FAKE PIECE OF SHIT…DOING A SHOW TO ‘HELP’ ADDICTS, ONLY TO GET TV FAME FOR HIMSELF….GLAD TO BE RID OF HIM…LOSER DRUGGIE..I WISH HIM ETERNAL SUFFERING IN HELL! HEHHEE! HEHEE! WORM FOOD..HEHEEE

Now, I relay this message not to express shock and outrage at the fact someone sent me a hateful email.  I’ve been in the music business for 10 years.  It happens.  On some level, I’m giving Susie exactly what she wants by shining a light on her.  She’s seeking a reaction from me based on my loose association with DJ AM.  She really just craves attention, and I get that.  But I actually said “damn” aloud when I read this one on my BlackBerry a few minutes ago.  What’s unsettling to me is this prevailing attitude that individuals who make mistakes in their personal lives are inherently “bad” people.  I’m really trying to understand why this viewpoint seems to dominate our culture.  Is it because people feel better about themselves when they project their own shortcomings onto others?  It all just reeks of insecurity to me.  I know I’m not perfect, so the last thing I would do is judge someone else.  Who the hell am I to condemn another human being?  Wishing suffering upon someone somehow doesn’t seem more noble to me than giving into temptation.  In my limited time hanging out with Adam and chatting with him online, my impression was that he was a generally good person who made some bad choices.  Honestly, who hasn’t?  Before you point your finger at someone else, I really think you need to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself what your own contribution to the world is.

I realize I run the risk of sounding just as preachy as Susie here.  I guess I’m just perplexed by the whole idea that people believe they can objectively determine the relative worth of another person, and even find joy in the knowledge that someone else has self-destructed.  If the goal is better humanity, is that really the appropriate means by which to achieve it?  Maybe someone can offer some insight.

  1. Rj says:

That Susie goes under many different names. Kalie, Kalee, Susie, Lacey, Candikayne, etc…

She’s been doing this kind of thing for years. It started with River Phoenix, whom she claims was her teen idol. His death, she claims, influenced her to throw her life away too. She’s now 35 (she claims)and she says she wants to OD like he did (preferably WHERE he did). She blames him for her whole desire to die. Makes no sense I know. She also ripped on Brad Renfro too. Basically anyone that dies a drug related death she “hates.” But they have to be young. The younger the better.

She has admitted to me that she had no idea who DJ AM was until his death and that she don’t really hate him the way she does River Phoenix because DJ AM wasn’t “young enough.”

I had extended contact with her through Youtube, mainly because she convinced herself I personally knew River. She threatens to have his ex girlfriends raped, she threatens their lives, and she has said that SHE could have made River happy. She blames them for letting him slip into the drug scene.

She told me she was from Washington but moved to LA to become an actor. But that didn’t work out. So now she despises anyone that don’t “appreciate Hollywood” such as Phoenix and Renfro who, according to her, had it all and threw it away.

I have no idea if anything she says is true. I suspect most is not. I also have no idea if she is evil or actually mentally ill. I just know that she and I sent a lot of messages back and forth for a while and she never got close to having a normal conversation.

She truly believes that fans “own” the stars they follow and she feels she is owed an “explanation” as to why she no longer has her teen idol “to oooh and ahhh over.”

Anyway, I stumbled across your page and wanted to shed some light on her message to you. People are now spamming every comment she makes on Youtube hoping to shut her down. It worked with her “Susie” account. But if you type in DJ AM you’re sure to find messages of the same sort from her new name, “Kalie.”
